05/14/2008 | 1:30pm - The Birthing
On a cold, cold day in November
And an icy day in Hell
There was born a legend
You'll come to know quite well

This young child's name was Pimpston
And rock was in his veins
He grabbed a guitar with a tiny hand
And metal he did play

The Cheesewood legacy now unveiled
This child from the womb
But his entrance to this earthly realm
Caused upheaval of a tomb

Ages and eons and years gone past
King Tutenrocken has risen at last
The dark king's rock rules unsurpassed
A challenge young Pimpston must come to pass

01/20/2006 | 10:38am - Oh snap!
Long time no anything, huh?

On one hand, not a whole lot has been happening lately, and on the other, a bunch of stuff has happened. I know, bizarre, but let's get started, shall we?

First (and most recently), my job sucks balls. They fired a really good guy, for as far as I can tell, no good reason. The boss didn't like him because he wouldn't take his shit. That's all. On top of that, we're STILL not branching out at all, even after several YEARS of me pleading for them to do so. Also, no pay increase in over 2 years, and the fact that I really don't ethically agree with the bullshit they pull here - both on the employees AND the clients.

So, long story short, I'm seriously thinking about quitting. I don't have another job lined up, but it gets to a point where I have to ask myself, how much is that paycheck REALLY worth? On top of that, I have enough money to live for a while on little to no pay if it ever really comes down to it.

In the same vein as the job, I had an interview for a fucking awesome job, but I don't think I got it. There were three interviews in total: one with the recruiting company that went great, one with the HR rep at the company that went alright, and finally one with the developer I'd be working with/under, which I tried to make go well, but he just didn't seem to be feeling it, which sucked. He was supposed to be on vacation last week, and I called him yesterday and left a message, and still nothing. On monday I'll try emailing him as well.

As far as the roommate, at one point he had 6 other people living in our house for about 5 days. We kicked him out, then felt bad and told him he could stay. So for now he's still living with us, but if he pulls something like that again, he's toast.

I haven't been keeping up with my music lately. I feel like I've hit a roadblock, and it doesn't help that we're not writing shit now that Dan's married and in New York, and Mark has at least one more semester of school. I can't seem to really get the inspiration to do more on my own lately, which sucks. Maybe I should up and go get an actual band or something, but I still feel weird approaching people I don't know about playing. This effect is doubled by the fact that I've actually tried and been shot down before. And tripled by the fact that I know most people who exist are idiots.

I think that covers everything, really. No I'm not going to cut it, your friends page can suffer.

11/29/2005 | 12:04pm - A quick summary.
-Thankgiving was okay.
-I am now a quarter century old.
-I also now own a 20GB iPod. For those who haven't been keeping up, I also own a Mac Mini. I am now officially assimilated.
-I saw BB King in concert last night. It rocked, for sure, but he did not play or do as much as he did last time I saw him. I think the poor guy is just getting old.
-Mie Thai fucking DELIVERS now. I am psyched.
-I finally almost have a level 60 character in WoW. As a matter of fact, I almost have two of them.
-I got two traffic tickets recently. Both for expired registration. One was on my birthday, the second was the day after, while I was ON MY WAY TO THE DMV TO RENEW IT. Fucking douchebags.

11/14/2005 | 10:12am - Disgusting.
You know what's fucking filthy?

Every time my new roommate takes a shower - which for the record, is about once a week - the drain gets clogged up with his hair.

I've gone through a gallon of Liquid Plumbr already, this is fucking nasty.

Oh man, so my Prince costume idea never got fleshed out, but the party was pretty kick ass.

Prepare yourself for pictures. )
There were a lot more, but I got lazy on the uploading.

10/29/2005 | 1:53pm - Don't forget - milk and condoms.
Holy shit, the Audioslave concert fucking ROCKED. Due to Rusty, and stopping for food, we actually got there after 30 Seconds to Mars played, and Seether, well, besides kinda licking balls, they ALSO try to be Nirvana, WAY too hard. I administered golf claps as needed.

Then Audioslave came out - and my ONLY beef with the show is that the mix was off for a couple of the songs, and Chris Cornell's voice ended up being too low. But they came out, played a bunch of songs from both albums, which was cool, THEN Chris Cornell is all like "we're gonna turn back time for a moment here" and they dropped a Soundgarden banner, and played Rusty Cage and Spoonman, which fucking rocked - though not quite my favorite of Soundgarden tunes.

So THEN he's all like "these guys are gonna play a little something for you" and walks off stage, while the band busts into Bulls On Parade, which was really cool, except for the complete lack of vocals, and the fact that they played one verse and skipped to the solo. THEN they start playing Sleep Now In The Fire, and Cornell comes out and start singing it - which is completely unexpected, as he said he wasn't going to cover Rage songs - but it kicked monumental amounts of ass.

They went on, played a few more songs, then played a brand new song that sounded pretty fucking awesome. They finish up, go off stage, and people start LEAVING. At this point, Rusty turns to me and is like "have these people never been to a concert before?" Needless to say, after enough hootin' and hollerin', Cornell comes out with just an acoustic, and proceeds to play a medley of Soundgarden, Temple Of The Dog, and Audioslave tunes. Halfway into "I Am The Highway" the band sneaks on stage and starts playing with him - so now they're in fullencore mode, and play a couple songs.

THEN they bust out Killing In The Name Of, which fucking rocked. But even more strange, Carl - who mind you, is black as night, and barely got into rock - I gave him his first and only copy of a Rage CD maybe 2 weeks ago - starts fucking rocking out and screaming along with it. They opened with Your Time Has Come, ended the set with Cochise, which was pretty much expected.

All in all, one fucking awesome concert.

10/20/2005 | 11:53am - Letter to my boss.
Charlie,

I understand that this is an important issue, but if, as the last line implies, my position here is actually being threatened over this issue, and my employment is being considered as being "carried", please let me know so I can take the proper action as a result.

Also, please note that the items in question simply have not been entered yet, not that they've been ignored. The issue here is apparently being a week behind on my hours. If that is a grave enough issue for my position to be threatened, again, please let me know. Simply because a threat is indirect does not mean I am going to ignore it.

-Ahmed

I sent this out just now. I actually feel really good about quitting right now, if it comes to that. :)

J suggested a good idea - that I dress up as Prince for Halloween. Thing is, I have no idea what the hell to wear or where to get such clothes. I figured I'd just put this out there, you know, for anyone interested. ;)

10/13/2005 | 10:36am - We fail.
So, for like, two months, J and I were like "hey, we should get tickets for that BB King concert" but kept putting it off like the slackers we are.

Checked yesterday, the 11/27 show is sold out, so we actually have to go on either Monday or Tuesday, which is kinda lame. :\

10/03/2005 | 6:33pm - Also
I've made up my mind, I'm going to take at LEAST one class next semester. I absolutely can NOT forget about this, so someone remind me every once in a while about it.

That said, I have no idea what to take, I could keep going with the computer science thing - I was thinking A.I. - but I don't know how much I really want to do that. I could get started on bio and try to get that to lead into some sort of medical masters. I could also take applied music courses, simply to further my own knowledge.

I really have no idea at this point though.
